Worldwide Emergencies

Within 24 hours of a massive earthquake in a foreign country, we deployed a crisis-response and risk management team to assess risks for a client who had volunteered to work as a doctor and to locate a missing employee. We quickly discovered several imminent threats to the doctor, including armed criminals and looters who were targeting medical personnel; security vulnerabilities at his home and worksite; and growing risk of infectious disease.

Based on this intelligence, we organized a low-profile security perimeter, provided on-site training, and put new procedures in place that enabled the humanitarian work to continue.

Our team separately found that the missing employee had died in the earthquake. We subsequently worked to recover and repatriate his body.
