Mergers & Acquisitions

CG helped an American private equity firm decide whether and how to acquire a major European manufacturing company. The client believed it had the individual pieces it needed to carry out such a large transaction, but wanted CG’s help to get crucial information on any blind spots that could derail the deal. We reviewed the European company’s operations across nine countries to identify any problems. We cross-referenced our independent findings against the data the European firm had shared with our client.

We discovered problematic gaps and omissions that could have threatened the deal, including political ties and sanctions risks in Russia; pending lawsuits in China; and business related to Iran.

As a result, both sides worked to address these issues. Ultimately, the multi-billion dollar acquisition went forward.
